The ECIU, the UAB’s European alliance, launches new opportunities for alumni

UAB alumni automatically form part of the ECIU, the UAB’s European alliance, which stands out for its innovative model of challenge-based learning.

Graduation is a milestone, but not an end point: this bond continues beyond studies. Thus, students who have already participated in ECIU activities or who will graduate soon will be able to stay connected to the community and continue to expand their education.

In this sense, the ECIU is preparing new training opportunities aimed at alumni, which will be available soon. Participants will be able to continue learning in an international and flexible environment, with activities aimed at facing real challenges and developing key skills for their professional future, recognised through micro-credentials.

Among the opportunities offered by the ECIU are short-term international mobility experiences in European universities, the development of essential skills for employment, and participation in real challenges in international and interdisciplinary teams, in collaboration with students, faculty, companies and institutions from all over Europe. In addition, alumni will also have access to a range of micro-modules that will allow them to expand their knowledge and skills in a flexible way.

Students who have already participated in ECIU challenges and micro-modules will keep their account active for at least two years, which will allow them to access these courses once they complete their studies.

People who do not yet have an ECIU account can easily create one with their UAB credentials. In parallel, an ECIU alumni group on LinkedIn has been launched to foster connections between students and graduates from the different universities belonging to the alliance.

Two years of free training

UAB graduates may enrol in ECIU courses open to alumni free of charge for a maximum of two calendar years after graduation. This period begins to count from the date shown on their degree, graduation certificate, or the European Degree Supplement issued by the university.

Currently, to access this offer, it is necessary to have created an ECIU account during the period in which the student is enrolled at the university. Therefore, it is recommended that all students who do not yet have an account create one before completing their studies.

Creating an account is a simple process that can be completed in a few steps through the account.eciu.eu portal, selecting the home university, registering with their credentials, and configuring the Microsoft multi-factor authentication.

The ECIU will continue to announce new training opportunities through its channels, especially through the alumni group on LinkedIn, where news and updates will be shared exclusively.
