The Social Sciences Library presents the exhibition James Joyce’s Dublin through Ulysses, displayed in the showcases on floor 0 of the library.
The exhibition offers a journey through the city of Dublin by means of Ulysses, the most emblematic work of the Irish writer James Joyce. Widely regarded as one of the milestones of world literature, the novel is closely linked to the urban landscape of the Irish capital.
This exhibition brings to a close the Literature and Tourism series, an initiative of the Social Sciences Library aimed at promoting and showcasing the library’s collection of tourism resources and travel guides. By exploring the relationship between literature and place, the series has invited visitors to discover different destinations through the works of renowned authors.
The exhibition opens on 16 June 2026, coinciding with the celebration of Bloomsday, the annual event commemorating the literary universe of James Joyce and the events narrated in Ulysses, which take place on 16 June 1904.
